Large SUV Sales In America – 2007 Year End

2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

For the fourth consecutive year, 2007 sales of full-size SUVs decreased in the United States. The 5% drop in 2007 equalled a loss of more than 31,000 sales as declines were achieved mostly across the board: at General Motors, Dodge, Nissan, and Toyota.

GM’s market share improved slightly from 60.4% to 60.7% despite a 5% loss from the quartet of SUVs, the Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, and Yukon XL. Together with the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, they accounted for 10.2% of all GM new vehicle sales in 2007.
