2019 U.S Midsize SUV Sales Analysis

Report Updated: With September 2019 Data on October 1st, 2019

Top Level US Reports: By Manufacturer / By Brand / By Model / Best Sellers

The midsize SUV segment had a rough month in September. This segment has had a good year, so far, so it was kind of surprising to see the decline in sales for the month.

The segment was down about 5,200 units in September when you compare it to last September’s sales results. The segment was still up YTD, though. There have been about 110,000 more sales so far this year.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee led the sales for the segment. It was down for the month of September but has seen strong sales so far this year.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the segment in the future. With the poor showing in September but the strong YTD numbers, we’d expect sales to bounce back in the coming months.

Data will trickle in throughout the day with the numbers being finalized by EOD. GCBC is also happy to announce that we will be adding quarterly sales reports and comparisons in addition to monthly sales comparisons beginning this quarter. We will also be adding monthly sales tables and charts to the mix as well.

Note: FCA US LLC will end its practice of reporting U.S. and Canada sales on a monthly basis following June results. FCA US and FCA Canada will report monthly sales for May and June. The first quarterly report will occur on October 1, 2019, covering the months of July, August, and September.
