Report Updated: With June 2019 Data on July 2nd 2019
Midsize SUV sales continue to look good. This is true both for the month of June and for the year as a whole. This segment has performed extremely well in the past and continues to see growth.
For the month, the segment is up by about 1,900 units. When you look YTD, you’ll see that sales rose by about 66,000 units so far this year. These are strong numbers, especially considering car sales are currently down overall.
Despite the rise in sales, it’s almost an even split on the number of models that saw sales decrease and the models that either saw no change or a positive one when you look at just June sales. The YTD numbers are looking a little better, but there are still a significant number of models that failed to see sales increases.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee managed to snag the top spot with a sales increase of about 11 percent. When you look YTD, the vehicle is up about 13 percent.
The next three models in terms of volume all saw sales drop. The Subaru Outback was the fifth highest-selling model and it saw a sales increase of about 9 percent for the month of June. YTD, it has seen a jump of about 3 percent so far. We’ll see how this segment fares in the future.
