Large SUV sales in the U.S. were down for the month of June when compared to this month last year. The segment saw about 900 fewer sales this June than last year.
The YTD numbers looked far better, suggesting June was not a good month for the vehicle segment. The segment is up by about 24,000 so far this year.
When you look at the number of models and how they sold, you see that for the month, there was an even split of models that saw sales go up and sales go down. The six models in the segment were split three and three for the month of June.
When you look YTD, you’ll notice, that the GMC Yukon and the Nissan Armada are two models that have seen increases YTD that suffered in the month of June. Meanwhile, the Chevy Suburban has struggled so far this year, but it managed to see a nearly 9 percent jump in sales for the month. It will be interesting to see if June was a fluke or if it will mark a downturn for the segment.
