Report Updated: With June 2019 Data on July 2nd 2019
The midsize luxury car segment failed to see good results in the month of June. When you look YTD, you’ll see that the segment is up considerably. Both results are due to the Tesla Model 3.
The segment was up considerably because of the Model 3. This month is one of the first where there was a significant volume for the car last year and this means that its sales won’t have as big of an impact.
The segment was down roughly 400 units for the month. It has been up by a whopping 6,100 units YTD. The Tesla Model 3 was carrying the entire segment.
The only other vehicles that have seen significant jumps in sales include the Lexus ES and the Genesis G80. All other models have had modest bumps in sales or watched sales drop.
We similar results in the future. The Tesla Model 3 will likely continue to lead the pack while most other models in the segment fail to capture much consumer interest.
