Our Take On The Top 20 Best Selling Car Sales Numbers

As July passed, the Honda Civic cemented its dominant position atop the Canadian passenger car market yet further. It and the Chevrolet Cruze were the only passenger cars in the top-five to increase their sales on last July, with both increasing sales by over 8%, while other stalwarts like the Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla and Mazda 3 saw sales slip on last July’s totals.

The Corolla in particular saw sales dip 7.3% last month, with the usually high-selling passenger car coming into competition with the more modern Toyota C-HR crossover.

Mercedes-Benz was one of the few manufactures whose sales were roughly balanced between light trucks and sedans. The luxury automaker sold 1770 passenger cars and 1773 light trucks last month, with the C-Class making up the majority of sedan sales with a 35.4% year-on-year boost.
