After an almost completely red chart in April, May’s top-20 passenger cars breakdown is flecked with green as some of the below nameplates managed to rally themselves into growth.
The Honda Civic goes top for the month, as the struggling midsize stalwarts of this segment – the Toyota Camry and Civic’s larger stable mate the Accord – slip down the table.
After a 7.4% uptick in its sales, the Honda Civic managed to break even for its sales year-to-date in May.
This chart of course doesn’t take into account GM’s models, figures for the quarter of which will be reported at the end of June.
Other spikes of year-on-year growth were seen last month for the Hyundai Elantra, the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger.
