Declines for a few high-volume players in the Canadian auto market have seen sales drop compared with last year, with the market as a whole declining compared with March 2017’s record performance – though only slightly.
A 10.8% year-on-year drop for the Ford F-Series accounts for a sizeable chunk of the drop in vehicle sales in Canada compared with March 2017, though it is not the only nameplate behind the decline.
Canada’s best-selling passenger car, the Honda Civic, saw sales drop by over a fifth compared with last year’s volume for the month. The best-selling minivan, Dodge’s Grand Caravan, saw a year-on-year drop of over 45% in March.
Bucking the trend, the top-selling SUV in Canada for March was the Toyota RAV4, which increased its sales by 21.1% year-on-year.
