August 2015 YTD Canada Vehicle Sales Rankings – Top 272 Best-Selling Vehicles In Canada – Every Vehicle Ranked

2014 Honda Civic interior
As Canadian passenger car volume continued its downhill migration in August 2015, Canadian sales of pickup trucks grew at twice the rate of the overall industry and SUV/crossover volume grew by 18%.
With sales of utility vehicles and cars at nearly the same level in August, the only thing separating the two categories are definitions. A few true crossovers – vehicles which could easily be considered SUVs or cars – switching places makes the difference, and provides an opportunity to conclude that SUVs and crossovers actually outsold cars in Canada last month.

The Ford F-Series and Ram P/U, Canada’s two best-selling trucks and two best-selling vehicles overall, both posted noticeable declines in August. Yet their decreased volume did little to slow down the industry, which produced 5700 extra sales from the Nissan Rogue, Jeep Cherokee, Honda CR-V, Dodge Journey, Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-3, and Ford Explorer, seven of Canada’s nine best-selling SUVs/CUVs last month.

Meanwhile, three of Canada’s four top-selling cars combined to lose more than 2000 sales. The Honda Civic, Canada’s best-selling car in each of the last 17 years, will once again be Canada’s best-selling car in 2015. But with a new Civic arriving soon – it appeared on the streets of Ann Arbor last week – and increasing disinterest in passenger cars, the Civic is down 5% this year.
